The birds are twittering outside the window and the sun is streaming in but I’m curled up on the sofa with a cup of tea and a new book (see below). .
My calligraphy pens are on my desk, watercolours rescued from the back of a cupboard and there’s a warm, happy feeling in my heart. I’d forgotten how much joy I get from drawing and painting (not tidying up!) and I’d neglected for too long. .
Without realising it, I’d buried something that makes me really happy. I’d hidden it under a never ending ‘to do’ list. .
Instagram can be frustrating but it connects you to people and things that might enrich your life. @5ftinf ‘s glorious work and way of seeing and creating beauty in so many different ways has given me confidence in my own way of looking at things. I’ve mentioned @kimklassen before but since doing her course there’s a real shift in my thinking. .
Longwinded way of saying January is going well and there’s a new post (a quick guide to Burgundy and @olivierleflaive ) on My Custard Pie plus some paintings of wine (in wine). .
Is there anyone you’ve connected with or who strikes a chord with you on Instagram? Please give them a shout out.
